Hypertension is a common comorbid condition of diabetes, affecting the majority of people with diabetes. Hypertension is also a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and microvascular complications such as retinopathy and nephropathy.
The primary purpose of this program is to educate primary care physicians and health professionals about the relationship between hypertension and diabetes. Diabetes is a chronic illness that requires continuing medical care and patient self-management education to prevent acute complications and to reduce the risk of long-term complications.
The American Diabetes Association presents "Diabetes and Hypertension" an archived webcast consisting of discussions that could help you improve patient outcomes. The series features slide presentations along with categorized questions from the live questions and answers sessions.
